WONDERLAND&YOU

ReThink Theatrical

Summer 2016, The Rutgers Gardens

This immersive, 40-acre experience allowed audience members to explore Wonderland (the Rutgers Gardens) as Alice from Lewis Carroll's books. I had the pleasure of directing this production and was honored to work with all of these talented actors that brought these stories to life. Audience members we able to travel around the gardens, go on quests, discover art pieces, and more. Wonderland&YOU won an NJASLA award in 2017.

ROBIN HOOD

ReThink Theatrical

Fall 2018, The Rutgers Gardens

Robin Hood was an original musical adaptation of the classic tale, which I co-wrote and co-directed with my friends and colleagues, Joe Ciampi and Mike Bond. The Appalachian folk-inspired comedy was designed to be engaging and fun for the whole family. Using wooden swords, cheap tricks, and acoustic instruments, we transformed a simple garden into an adventure. We successfully recorded an album, which is available on most streaming platforms.

A Midsummer

Night's Dream

ReThink Theatrical

Summer 2015, The Rutgers Gardens

A Midsummer Night's Dream was the first of ReThink Theatrical's productions. I had the pleasure of co-directing this with Stephanie Bond. The narrative brought audience members throughout the Rutgers Gardens, each scene in a different location. Faeries were used as guides and emerged to tell the story as different characters. Reused and recycled materials were used as props and costumes

Little Shop of Horrors

ReThink Theatrical

Winter 2019, Jacob's Well

Little Shop of Horrors, by Howard Ashman and Alan Menkin, was one of ReThink's first full musicals. I had the pleasure of directing this talented cast of characters. The concept was to minimize the set and costume of the musical in order to emphasize the campiness of it all. The humor was overdone so that the darkness and horror were brought out further.
